The podcast included two episodes on emotional processing, acting and improv as it is often experienced by about 10% of the human population. These humans have what’s called alexithymia. You can learn more about emotions and improv either as a podcast, or as a downloadable PDF coming soon.
You can listen to the episodes here:
Part one discusses at what alexithymia is, who experiences it and the variety of expression, and how it affects improv performers and the shared improv practice.
Part twoexplores some ideas about what students can do if they approach exercises with assigned emotions. I also discuss what teachers can do to make their classes and exercises more inclusive for students who are alexithymic.
